About the Tour of Romandie
The Tour de Romandie is one of the key warm up races for both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France, largely thanks to its abundance of time trialing kilometres and high-altitude climbs. The race is the youngest of the two week-long stage-races held in Switzerland, starting back in 1947, and unlike the Tour de Suisse - which falls a little later in the season - its route largely traverses the French-speaking Romandie region in the west of the country.
