About the Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta
The Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta was formerly a one-day race held in tandem with the final stage of the men’s Vuelta a España and on the same city-centre circuit around Madrid. Now it’s a five-day race with a team time trial and three hilly road stages followed by an explosive criterium around the centre of Madrid.
Traditionally the race was a playground for the sprinters, but now with the inclusion of a team time trial on the opening day and three hilly road stages the race has opened its doors to many different types of riders, particularly the GC specialists who are strong across all terrains.
